5 Ways To Break The Office Dress-Code for Fun
Most of us like to wear jeans and T-shirts in the office, but there are employers who think that wearing suits is the most wonderful practice after using a form and knife to eat bananas. If your company is a hard-liner on the topic of office dress code you can make some fun for you and your colleagues by breaking the office dress-code or just predefining it.
Here are five ideas to have fun in the office…
1. Suit with sandals (for men)
This is the perfect combination for the summer. Wear your suit and necktie and instead your black mirror-polished shoes put on your favorite sandals. This is a great way for your feet to breathe. For more fun make your pedicure and show it to everyone.
2. Shorts and a jacket (for men)
May be the air-conditioning system in your office is not doing very well? Get your shorts out of the wardrobe and replace the trousers with them. Take care about your shoes - they should look great and attract most of the attention. Otherwise you have to explain to others many times the facts about bad air-conditioning and its impact on your productivity.
3. Miniskirts Make You Look Hot (for women)
Just shorten one of your office skirts with not less than 40% and get in the office with the walk of a photo-model. Enjoy the reactions of men in the office and your boss trying not to look at your legs.
4. Sunglasses (uni-sex)
If you are a Matrix-fan you can wear your sunglasses all day long and look like Neo or Trinity. If somebody asks you why are you doing this you always can tell him/her that the light of the lamps irritates your eyes.
5. T-shirt Never Dies
Put on a t-shirt with a big title “I hate 9-5 jobs” on it and go to your boss’ office to ask for promotion. Have fun and don’t take offense if you don’t get this promotion you’ve dreaming of for years.

I think that office-life and 9-to-5 type jobs are something that should not be taken so seriously. I don’t believe that you will be fired for a stupid t-shirt or for a missing necktie. Just have fun, do what you feel is right for you and think about the perspective to start additional streams of income and step-by-step to fire your boss and quit the 9-5 trap.

Think I’ll do these things when I have trippled my salary…:)
Creative but at the same time when you’re working for big business you can’t wear sandals or shorts. It’s bad for your personal brand, when others dress “above you.”
Graham, double salary will be enough!
Dan,
Of course you are right, but these ideas are part a joke and part - a fresh look at office dress-code.
They are not applicable for big corporation employees with great ambitions to go up the company ladder.
Anyway OneJobTwoSalaries.com is targeted to people who aim career as self-employed entrepreneurs.
6. Overdress / overdo it
Visit the center of fashion in Italy in Milan, get yourself the smartest dress you can, and wear that at the office. Effect guaranteed.
It depends on where you work. But it’d be fine indeed to start trying other combinations. I think everyone’s tired of seeing suits!
